Marine Riders Trails Association

The Marine Riders Trails Association has applied for the LOA for the Shearwater Flyer Trail following Cole Harbour Parks and Trails Association's relinquishing of that LOA. It has yet to be approved by DNRR, but community consultations have begun in the event that the LOA is awarded to MRTA. We have had a community information session, and a community meeting to establish a management committee, discuss trail etiquette, and recruit members is planned for Sunday, March 19 from 7 - 8:30 pm at the Buffalo Club in Eastern Passage. 

Todd Thompson will be holding a work party for the Myra Trails tomorrow Jan 31, departing the Myra Parking lot at 12:30. Fallen tree clearing, sign posting kinda day. So if you're interested and want to lend a hand - please come out!

The Blueberry Run Reinstatement project has begun! The Marine Riders Trails Association has contracted WSP to develop a detailed design which we can then use to tender the reinstatement work. With financial help from HRM, NS Communities Culture Tourism and Heritage, Trans Canada Trail and the Off-Highway Vehicle Infrastructure Fund, we hope to begin shovels-in-the-ground work next spring, Stay tuned for more information.

Fun Run! Next weekend, Jan 28 or 29 depending on the Weather. Going to run some of the best challenges the Myra trail system has to offer. Looking to cover these trails. Leaving the end of the Myra Rd 9:30 or so, should be back by 3:00 pm or so ...

Some of the members are having a work party / fun run this Wednesday, Nov 30 to assess and fix up some of the Myra trails. If you're interested they plan on meeting at the end of the Myra Rd at 12:30. Bring any woods tools you may have (chainsaws etc.) and make a good afternoon of it!

The October general meeting of the Marine Riders Trails Association will be held on Tuesday, October 25th at the Seaforth Community Hall, 6060 Hwy 207, Seaforth, Nova Scotia at 7:30 pm.

The Marine Riders Trails Association is seeking Requests for Quotations on two projects we hope to begin work on in 2023. To that end we are inviting companies to submit quotes on the projects as detailed in these documents:

The Sheet Harbour ATV Rally is coming up Saturday, Sept 17. I will be leaving the parking lot at the Porters Lake mall that morning at 7:30 if anyone wants to join in the fun. More info on the rally can be found here:

Now that COVID-19 restrictions have loosened a bit we will be having an in person meeting on February 23rd, 2021 at the Seaforth Community Hall. The meeting will start at 7:30pm and will be live streamed for those who chose not to come in person. The address can be found on our About Us section on this site.
